Machinery Safety Risk Assessment
Safety Risk Assessments are the first step in safety lifecycle. The purposes are to provide a structured approach to identifying, assessing, mitigating and improving safety in industrial system.
Machinery Safety Risk Assessments help you identify risks to be mitigated and they help you comply with standards and regulations according to typical recognized standard.
According to ISO 12100:2010, actions required to implement risk assessment and risk reduction:
- Determine the limits of the machinery, which include the intended use and any reasonably foreseeable misuse thereof;
- Identify the hazards and associated hazardous situations;
- Estimate the risk for each identified hazard and hazardous situation;
- Evaluate the risk and take decisions about the need for risk reduction;
- Eliminate the hazard or reduce the risk associated with the hazard by means of protective measures.
