Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA)

Overview

The DHA was conducted following the general procedure outlined in NFPA 652. The process cover evaluating the fire, deflagration, and explosion hazards and provide recommendations to manage the hazards according NFPA 652.

Methodology

The process(es) and building(s) are broken down into individual components, or nodes.  Focussing for each components/nodes  to check possibility of Dust cloud generated and potential ignition sources. This might cause fire/explosion/flashfire/deflagration and to identify any protective measure in place and compliance to NFPA. There are 6 steps proposed to execute Dust Hazard Analysis according to NFPA 652 (Figure 4)
